Notes: Dan loves to experiment with color and materials. The olive Special has a striking wing of baby bottom soft black tipped silver fox hair. Dan also uses a floss keeper to ensure the floss on the tag behaves and doesn’t slip off the back of the fly. A tag strand of floss is left at the rear of the hook, the floss is wound forward and then the tag is pulled over the wrapped floss and secured. Warren Duncan (1948 – 2007) was well known for using this technique in his tying.
